系統(tǒng)從其生產(chǎn)的產(chǎn)品接收最新信息。通過其獨一無二的條碼，每個工件都將持續(xù)不斷地向不計其數(shù)的傳感器提供關(guān)于其狀態(tài)、要求及下一步生產(chǎn)工序等的信息。這是輕松管理日益復(fù)雜的產(chǎn)品的唯一途徑，因為西門子計劃未來在安貝格和成都生產(chǎn)許多不同型號的產(chǎn)品。這個系統(tǒng)也將大大簡化開發(fā)人員、產(chǎn)品工程師和生產(chǎn)工程師等之間的數(shù)據(jù)共享。

安貝格：榜樣。成都工廠的員工深為這個系統(tǒng)架構(gòu)而自豪。在物流部門工作的Li Yan表示：“我著實喜歡SEWC，因為所有生產(chǎn)過程都是由綜合IT系統(tǒng)管理。”成都工廠的高度自動化生產(chǎn)過程不僅激起了西門子員工的興趣，在其落成的第一年，這座工廠還吸引了2000多位非西門子參觀者來訪。

安貝格工廠是成都工廠的榜樣。SEWC的商務(wù)總監(jiān)Stefan Gottwald解釋道：“我們只想使用來自EWA的成熟系統(tǒng)。”然而，成都工廠與安貝格工廠并非一模一樣。因為SEWC尚在建設(shè)和擴建中，其績效相比安貝格工廠仍有一段差距。EWA的月產(chǎn)量為100萬件Simatic產(chǎn)品，而SEWC的月產(chǎn)量則僅為6萬件。但是，占地3200平方米的成都工廠在規(guī)模上僅為安貝格工廠的三分之一。未來，SEWC的產(chǎn)量必將增至目前的4倍。也正是因為其產(chǎn)量較低，成都工廠尚未像安貝格工廠那樣達(dá)到75%的自動化率。產(chǎn)品多元化的情況也是如此，除集中生產(chǎn)Simatic S7-200控制系統(tǒng)之外，只生產(chǎn)了少數(shù)其他元件。而安貝格工廠則生產(chǎn)了約1000種不同產(chǎn)品。不過，SEWC每個月都要增產(chǎn)4到6種產(chǎn)品。
